Privacy Policy

American Corporate Transportation (“ACT,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) recognizes your right to confidentiality and is committed to protecting any personal information you may share with us. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to explain the principles governing our use of personal information.

Information We Collect

Personal Information
ACT collects personal information that you voluntarily provide when you create a customer account, request a service quote, or request a reservation, such as your first and last name, contact information, E-mail address, and credit card billing information. Any visitor may choose to browse this ACT Web site (“Site”) without creating an account; however, you will need to create an account to remit payment for ACT services. We may ask you to confirm your personal information when you contact our Customer Service department. This will allow us to protect your confidentiality by verifying your identity.

Aggregate information
We automatically receive and collect certain types of information whenever you visit our Site. For example, like many companies, we use "cookies" and similar files. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us monitor the usage and performance of our Site, to enhance your experiences and to determine aggregate information about our user base and usage patterns. Usage of a cookie is not linked to any personally identifiable information on our site. The majority of Web browsers accept cookies and similar files, but you can usually change the browser settings to prevent acceptance.

We store your personal data and credit card or debit card information in an encrypted form on a third party secure server that is password protected and shielded from the outside world by a firewall. When you submit a payment through our Site, your personal information and credit card or debit card information is transmitted using SSL encryption technology and then encrypted into our payment gateway providers database only to be accessed by those authorized with special rights to such systems, and required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction is completed, your credit card or debit card information will be stored on our third party provider’s servers.

In addition, we maintain security policies that are intended to ensure, as far as possible, the security and integrity of all our information, including your personal information. However, no system or information can ever be fully protected against every possible hazard. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security and privacy of any information you provide to us and, accordingly, you do so at your own risk.

Use of Your Information

ACT may use information we collect to improve our Site, to enhance users' experiences when visiting our Site, and to process transactions requested by ACT customers. We do not use personal identifying information for any reason that is not disclosed either in this Privacy Policy or at the time the information is requested.

We will not send E-mails to you unless you consent to being contacted by E-mail. You have the opportunity to subscribe to a mailing list that will occasionally send information to your E-mail address about the Site, our services, or special discounts and promotional offers. If at any time you do not wish to receive further E-mails you may opt out by sending us an Email providing your full name, E-mail address and a request for removal from the mailing list or by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of the email.
